Piano
Materials Needed:
- Any kind/brand of piano or a weighted keyboard (Keyboards that are not weighted are not recommended if the student is committed)
- Alfred’s Basic Piano Library (These books are amazing. The songs in them are fun to play while progressing in a logical and consistent manner. These books include the “interval” method of learning which teaches the student exactly how to think when reading piano music.)
- Prep Course Books A-F for the Young Beginner (roughly ages 5-9)
- Alfred’s Basic Books 1A-6 for the Beginner (roughly ages 10-13)
- Alfred’s Basic Books 1-3 for the Later Beginner (roughly ages 14+)
- Blank Manuscript Book (for extra exercises and to keep track of weekly practice material)
Supplementary Materials:
- John W. Schaum Piano Course (alternate method books only to be used for extra reading material)
- A Dozen a Day (technical exercises for the piano)
- Hanon (technical exercises for the piano)
