Acoustic & Electric Guitar
Galliard Music offers in-home lessons on the pick-style guitar for all ages, levels, and styles.
The pick-style guitar, or plectrum guitar, refers to a guitar that uses a pick, or plectrum, to sound the strings opposed to using the fingers as on the Classical guitar. The two types of pick-style guitars include the steel string acoustic guitar and the electric guitar. The styles of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Funk, Pop, Alternative, Punk, Progressive, and Modal Music can all be played on the acoustic or electric guitar.
Beginners are encouraged to learn on an acoustic guitar. Learning on an acoustic instrument will aid in strengthening the hands and developing the students musicality as well as help students in learning how to produce a rich full tone without the help of amplification.
